Hanson Robotics(Richardson, TX)
Meet Zeno, a mere 17 inches tall, but surely the smartest and coolest robot one could ever imagine! The first of his kind, Zeno is a breakthrough character developed by Hanson Robotics who is enlivened with conversational artificial intelligence software, allowing him to engage in complete dialogues with festival audiences, make personal eye contact, and even have his own moods.
About Zeno RobokindZeno is an inspiring, one-of-a-kind hi-tech innovation, that performs with everything he needs to become your friend: he even sees, hears, and remembers who you are. He walks, talks shows emotions, and performs amazing stunts. Less than two feet tall, and weighing only six pounds, Zeno runs on battery power, moves with graceful balance, and is suited with a soft form face that allows an array of lifelike expressions! Zeno is designed to operate independently, but can also be linked (via wireless connection) to a computer or the Internet in order to have complete conversations with an individual, and to continue learning and growing smarter. About Hanson RoboticsHanson Robotics is a designer, developer, producer and distributor of revolutionary, interactive bio-inspired conversational robots, including the world-famous Albert-Hubo, featured internationally through countless media outlets. Hanson’s family of anthropomorphic robots display a unique, artificial subconscious, partly due to their cognitive understanding of language-based interactive speech, conversational capabilities and genuine eye contact, coupled with a full range of human facial expressions. FrubberTM, or “flesh rubber”, is the company’s proprietary spongy, structured elastic polymer that expertly mimics the movement of real human musculature and skin using 1/20th the power of other existing materials. Founded in 2003 by inventor Dr. David Hanson, who is widely regarded amongst the world robotics industry as both a leader and a visionary, Hanson Robotics seeks to to commercialize social robot characters and their constituent technologies. Dr. Hanson received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Dallas in Humanities with a major in Aesthetic Studies and holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Zeno made his first appearance at Wired Magazine’s NextFest, in 2007.
